8-piece cap pattern and sewing with Janet Linville (part 2)

$153.00

As much as the Special Occasion hats are a huge market, caps are also an important part of many millinery businesses. Their casualness, their appeal to both male and female customers and their ‘every season’ adaptability can help expand your customers and fill out gaps in the season. The familiarity of the 8 piece also makes it a good ‘starter hat’.

Using provided pattern, learn how to properly construct and sew the cap.

Supplies:

For the pattern: 1) 1 yd firm, semi translucent pattern paper, 2) paper scissors and fabric scissors,3) 18” clear plastic, gridded ruler, 4) # 17 french curve, 5) wooden dieplate or download (more specifics later), 6) protractor or download a 60 degree angle, 7) the calculator on your phone (?) , 8) 2 different colors of pen/pencil with a fine point, 9) pushpins.

OR single layer foss 300, pressed and cut into a strip 1” wide and 2” longer than hdsz, 5) Hand Sewing thread and grosgrain to finish.
